Power in Unwind

Power is everything in Unwind. The government has the power allow children’s bodies to be torn apart. Parents have the power to make the decision to have their child’s body torn apart. The government exercises their power over their people by giving them the choice to “Unwind” their unwanted children. This power gives the government more control over their population. The free thinkers and troublemaker that don’t fit into the perfect child mold  are being disposed of.  This eventually will create a population of weak, compliant people who and think and act the same. Parents have the power to make the decision to unwind their child giving the parents a level of control that is psychologically harmful to the child. They are forced to act in a certain way always fearful that their parents won’t be pleased enough with them and therefore choose to unwind them. This puts a huge amount of stress on the child and also hinders their personal growth. They can’t be who they really are because who they really are is not wanted. They grow up thinking they need to fit in with everyone else. They will grow up into a society where there is no originality.
