Forgotten Beast

Can children really determine what is real or fake? Can they choose what is untrue or should it be laid out for them? In "The Forgotten Beasts of Eld," we see a number of things happen to boy who becomes what we see as a hero. Along with the book the article states that when we read fantasy we find things that we could share with these heros. When we read fantasy or any book (maybe not all books) we want to compare ourselves of see ourselves doing the same thing. In this since we want to be a hero too. Most books end all happy and this on fits that bill, the evils end up dead and the heros end up saving the day; Tamlord ends up as the king. The author of the article also states that a fantasy book always has to capture  one's attention and most importantly, catches their imagination. Forgotten Beast of Eld does a really good job creating a picture, although I'm not a huge fan of the book. It was well written.

Throughout the book we see Sybel have quiet the quest. She starts the beginning happy with her animals in the mountains; She is completely away from human life.  She goes through a huge cycle of desire, want, power, and struggle. In the end Sybel ends up through the ringer and becomes what she wants, the Liralen.
