The Story Through Liza's Eyes

Annie on my Mind is written as Liza telling a story. I think it helps the story. It makes the story more real. You can really see what she, Liza, is feeling or thinking. She goes though countless number of emotions through the whole book. When reading a book that is telling someone side to a story, you really want them to be the only telling it cause you want to know more personal things that they are not as likely to share with some one else who is telling the story. At some points in the book, I would like to know Annie's side but we can see she is pretty good at letting Liza into her life. She wants Liza to be comfortable the to except what is happening.

The way she writes Annie on My Mind affects your reading in a number of ways, one of them being your opinion on what is going one. With Liza telling the story it makes you want to side with Liza and feel bad for her. When she is in the courtroom and wants to say hi or even just smile at the teachers, she feels that it would not make her dad every happy. Her dad says a lot in this book; which ends up giving my mixed feeling on my opinion of him. Liza really likes Annie but I'm left wondering through out the book if she loves Annie or if it's just cause Annie started it and it made since.

With this book being read from the point of view of a freshman in college, you still have a lot of learning to do. I'm a sophomore in college and I'm still trying to figure out what I totally want to do with my life. These girls did a lot in high school and had to have a lot of courage to stand up for themselves. In the end, I think that which Liza writing the story it really helps the story become more real, and made my opinion on the topic even stronger.
